I will begin by briefly saying that we went to the Agriculture Fair the weekend before last in Belmopan. It wanted to be the Rock County Fair so bad it could taste it. Literally, it is the one big agriculture fair each year and is for the whole country, but it is probably smaller than most county fairs and it has all the things you normally do at a fair only with less of them. However, I did have a good time wandering around and watching the cows be judged (although I do call into question the qualifications of these so called “judges”). You also do have to take into consideration the fact that the country only has a little more than 300,000 people.
Next, last week as part of our language training we had to go to the market and buy ingredients for a native meal using our Q’eqchi skills and then cook the meal. We decided to make kahune cabbage, any shape but circular tortillas, ceviche, and fried plantains.

The one and only Shaki. She feel asleep during dinner. She may or may not have a problem with randomly falling asleep. The other day we started eating dinner and my yuwa (dad) asked where she was and inna (my mom) said she thought she was at her sister's house and that she would get her after dinner (yea, she is three, who needs to worry about her?). About 15 minutes into eating we heard a loud WAH WAH coming from yonder. Both inna and inyuwa run outside to find Shakira trapped inside li kotleb'aal (latrine). Apparently she had gone to the bathroom while it was still light out, fallen asleep, then when she awoke it had gotten dark so she could not find the latch to leave the latrine and therefore just began to cry.

Last weekend I got to stay at Mt. Crique Jute Lodge, probably the finest lodge in all of Toledo. It was an all-inclusive lodge in Toledo where the host even took us spelunking, allowed us to eat lunch in the middle of a road, and took us to talk to a lot of villagers. It was very relaxing and needed. I will give the lodge 4.5 stars out of 5 and the only reason it is not a perfect 5 is because of the fact that we were promised a mint on our pillow when we awoke which did not actually happen. Also, by all this I mean we went a visited a current PCV that is living down in Toledo right now.
Sweet stingray in the Carib Sea.
We were playing with a football and it got stuck in the tree... it may or may not have been me who throw it.

We also had a sports day yesterday at the school that was a lot of fun. I will get some videos up later when I have more time.

William. I really want that shirt before I leave.
I will also show you a picture quick of what we found in my house yesterday.
Li xook'. This is the smallest of the many scorpions I have seen.
Apparently something was very funny.
That is about all for now. Hopefully I will be able to update you all again next week.
