I don't have much prepared for you so I will just post a bunch of pictures. As you saw in the last post I have a lot of critters in my house, and since that last post I have just gotten more and more. So, without further ado, let's take a look at the zoo that is my house:
The reptile and amphibian exhibit was confined to my bathroom, but lately they have been escaping into the house.
Li xook'
Welcome to the aviary, i.e. my kitchen. This poor little guy couldn't find his way out and I had to catch him in a box and release him outside myself.
Frog
Next frog.
Giant grasshopper.
Next random lizard.
li xook' mas nim (bigger scorpion). Scary little buggers ain't they?
Li xook' afta I took my machete (pronounced without an e at the end) to him and rid him of all his dangerous parts.
Giant moth. It's hard to see here but this moth was definitely bigger than the bird above.
The prehistoric section of my zoo...
He was probably two feet long.
Just chillin' in my bathroom.
Next frog.
Giant caterpillar in my house last night.
The thing sticking out is a tail I guess. I don't know... one way or another that is his back end.
Next a few pictures of my house. I will get some more of my yard later and some pictures of the inside of the house once it is cleaner:
Home sweet home.
Where I think I'm going to put my garden.
Side yard looking towards my backyard. I will try and get the other side yard and backyard soon. I have more or less every kind of tree you could want. I have lime, craboo, guava, orange (which are really green here), mango, coconut (we knocked a whole bunch down the other day and stocked up on coconut water), starfruit, and velvet apple off the top of my head and I'm pretty sure I have one or two more kinds of fruit trees that I don't recall right now.
Back of my house. The cement block part is my bathroom.

Otherwise school started earlier this month. I am working with 6 special ed kids Mon-Thurs. in my village and then I go into town to a sister school and work with 5 other kids on Fri. There has been a lot of holidays this month so we haven't really gotten into the flow of things yet, but so far school is going well. I will keep you updated on it as I go along.
That is all for now, hopefully I will not take so long to write next time.
